A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Chartered Global Management Accountants, and the Association for Project Management, Ian was educated at Coventry University, Manchester Business School and Oxford Saïd Business School.
A business leader who has spent a significant part of his career in the areas of strategic planning, transformational change and corporate governance. In recent times, Ian led an award-winning transformation programme – one of the largest and most complex investments of its kind in UK industry, impacting on over 140,000 people across Royal Mail’s UK operation and enabling the 2013 IPO. Ian also operated as Chief of Staff between 2014 and 2018 – acting as confidante, critical-friend and trusted advisor to Royal Mail’s UK CEO.
In his current role as Director of Business Transformation for the UK division of Royal Mail, Ian leads a professional portfolio, programme and project management resource enabling technological, infrastructure, process and method changes across the UK.
Ian also acts in an advisory capacity to Career Ready, CASS Business School and The Romero Academy in Coventry. Until recently, Ian was the non-executive chairman of National Design Consultancy 2000 Ltd – a UK based company providing building engineering services to the public and private sectors. Ian is also a Trustee for the Rowland Hill Fund – a not-for-profit organisation providing financial support to current and past employees of Royal Mail and The Post Office.
